Over 60% of greenhouse gas emissions in Hong Kong result from power generation¹. To reduce greenhouse gases and pollutants released by traditional fossil fuel power generation, Fortune Pharmacal takes the initiative to introduce renewable energy at Yuen Long manufacturing plant: we have established the largest solar power generation system in Hong Kong, consisting of 4,461 solar panels, which is expected to produce 2,040,831 kWh of electricity per year, equivalent to the yearly electricity consumption of approximately 620 typical three-person households. This provides the plant with a stable and clean source of electricity.
Carbon Footprint Audits to Ensure Compliance with Global Standards

Improved Efficiency with Our Automated Warehouse
The Yuen Long manufacturing plant has introduced Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to realize an effective control the inventory flow in the warehouse. This is the first local pharmaceutical plant to adopt an automated warehouse system. The automated warehouse comprises an elevated high-density design which increases storage capacity by 300%. Different from traditional pharmaceutical companies which store raw materials and finished products separately due to technical constraints, our automated warehouses can store raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products concurrently to optimize space and save energy.
24-Hour Environmental Monitoring System
The Environmental Monitoring System (EMS) is responsible for monitoring key environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, pressure differences, and High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter statuses in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The system also performs real-time recording and alarm prompts, and automatically makes related adjustments, allowing our staff to make quick responses.
Since the pharmaceutical process has stringent requirements for the entire manufacturing environment, the plant requires 24-hour temperature and humidity controls. During idle periods, we utilize a power saving mode (“setback mode”) to lower power consumption and reduce our carbon footprint.

Environmentally Friendly 100% Recyclable Target
Every packaging material of Fortune Pharmacal products comprises forest-friendly FSC™ certified paper³ and recyclable aluminum foil. Meanwhile, we have also implemented an aluminum foil recycling program to improve our recycling rate and reduce the impact of packaging-related waste on the environment and society.Our goal is to make all product packaging materials recyclable by the end of 2024.
